Dog Training Class Descriptions at Neighborhood Veterinary Center
All Classes are Rolling Enrollment. This means you can start a class at any time and still learn everything you need! Why rolling enrollment? This method allows owners the flexibility to attend class at their convenience. Although we at SFDT recommend that classes should be taken consecutively, we understand that life happens and it can sometimes be difficult to do so. Class duration: 45min - 1hr
Puppy Basics: Puppies 6 months and under
This class is designed to target all those unwanted puppy behaviors that we come across early on in our dogs life. We constructed a core curriculum that we feel will cover all the fundamentals needed to get our puppies off to an amazing start and to teach owners how to overcome all the little puppy quirks your furry friend will throw your way. From basic obedience, to general puppy care, to of course the “big one”, Potty training, this class has everything you need to start you and your puppies relationship off on the right paw!
Obedience Level 1: Dogs 6 months+
Our Obedience Level 1 Class is perfect for the owner/dog pair that wants to go back to basics and begin building a training foundation. It’s important for our dogs to have the fundamentals of obedience training in order to later prevent behavioral problems. The goal in this class is to create a language that both you and your dog understand so that we can better communicate what it is that we want and expect from our canine companions.
Obedience Level 2 and Level 3 courses also available.
Therapy Dog Prep-Course: Pre-requisite Obedience Level 2 or CGC Certification
This course is perfect for the owner who wants to be pro-active with their dogs in the community! The therapy dog prep-course helps prepare your dog for any situation they might encounter in a hospital as well as in the community. By going over all the requirements needed to achieve therapy dog certification we feel confident that if you pass the prep course you will pass the therapy dog exam!
FantasTric! Training (ask about prerequisites)
Trick Training is one of the most fun things you can do with your dog! Dogs love to learn and as much as dogs love obedience nothing is quite as fun as learning some party tricks to show off. That’s why we created FantasTric!
